Will check it out this summer. Finally finished The Passage and the Twelve. Found both really good and frustrating at the same time.

Have you read any of Walter Mosley’s stuff? The Leonid McGill books are solid.

It’s neat how many future sci-fi fantasy stars are in that film- Andrea and Dale from Walking Dead, Sam Witwer. There are a few more, too, aren’t there? I just can’t watch that film again though, either.

Yeah, I’ve gotten 4 episodes in and am unsure. Proffitt is more invested in it than I am. I have to agree with prior comment-ers, it’s slightly unnerving to have empathy for a character you know is going to turn, well, pretty much evil. And while not necessarily cheering him, it’s more of a *head in hands* “No! No! Why?? Oh…” kind of vibe watching.

You should try one of Liz Long’s novels for a quick “paranormal beach read”- Gifted (which is more Y/A) or Witch Hearts.

Usually not the “paranormal romance” type but I believe this was a EW Must List recommendation and I needed a change from the vampires.

I’m not that familiar with Armitage but after investigating, oh yes, I can see him cast, ouh la la. I didn’t think to look up any references, but now I think I’ll do that when I get to the sequel. Thanks!
